Practice gratitude every day

The benefits are nearly endless. It makes you happier, you’ll experience more positive emotions, strengthens your immune system, helps you feel more alive, mitigates panic, decreases depression & manifesting becomes easier.

Sometimes when we start this practice it feels “forced” and it actually is! We might write or repeat the things we are “supposed” to be thankful for without a real feeling behind it. Eventually, this shifts and we start feeling thankful and recognizing the triggers of this feeling is an experience all in itself. We start noticing new events and gestures that make that warm fuzzy thankful feeling bubble up from the stomach to the brain.

The moment we realize that we have stopped “doing” and started “feeling” the practice normally comes as an extraordinary surprise and gift.

Studies show that being thankful can significantly increase well-being and life satisfaction. The research also supports the idea that to reign in the long-term benefits of the practice you need to keep it “fresh”. What this means is that if you repeat day after day “I’m thankful for my family” the brain eventually stops taking notice and it becomes another automatic action with no value added.

Instead, if you take a minute to reflect on your day, feelings, interactions with others and surroundings you can find new things to be grateful while keeping your mind focused. Be creative and have fun with it!

Getting started

⭐Each day, think of 3 things, big or small, that made a positive impact on you. The phone call of a friend, the sunset, a good work result…

⭐Start a gratitude journal. Making a commitment to writing down a little something each day makes it more likely that we will notice new things on a regular basis. Most people do it a soon as they wake up or before going to bed. But you can also take advantage of wasted time like commute or a waiting room

⭐Practice gratitude rituals. Like saying grace at meals or counting your blessings.

⭐Have a weekly mantra like the ones below, they will remind you something to be thankful for each week.

⭐Be thankful for advanced! For events that you want to see taking place. This gets you in the right mindset for manifestation.
