If I am still not convinced enough check out EPA ‘s (the United States Environmental Protection Agency) recommendation guide.
Some of the best-selling cleaning products in the supermarket include chemicals that are downright dangerous. Cleaning substances are the second biggest danger for kids 6 an under according to poison.org 2016 statistics. Additionally, they also highlight this same population has the greatest number of victims reaching 41.3 toddlers every 1000. Do you need more to be convinced of how important it is to eliminate these products from your home?
Some of the industrialized products give themselves away as soon as you open them and the smell hits you like a 10 tons truck. They kill all happiness in the environment by replacing clean air with some sort of toxic vapor. Not even the fake essences that the companies try to use to cover the stink helps, in extreme cases it makes it worse.
We need to understand that cleaning products always go into the environment either through evaporation of the volatile components or down the drain when rinsing. Some of these chemicals have a very adverse effect on different ecosystems because the water treatments are not always capable of processing them adequately.
Buying less hazardous products have a positive impact by preventing the above described and increasing biodegradability, reducing packaging, lower toxicity & improved air quality amongst others. All of these, of course, helps preserve this beautiful world that has been so generous with us.
